Inclusive math classrooms for multilingual learners (MLs) build upon students' backgrounds, intentionally develop language, provide linguistic support, and reinforce students' math identities. This session will focus on strategies, tools, and practices that elevate and support MLs in mathematics.
Want to give students opportunities to learn how to make a difference in a real context using mathematical modeling? Come learn about the community-based mathematical modeling cycle, how to identify and build awareness of local, 3-5th grade friendly problems, and gain access to sample tasks.
