In this session, teachers experience a geometry lesson where students engage in a design challenge. Teachers will create a floor plan for the space based on different needs of the students. We will discuss how this lesson promotes mathematical thinking, as well as student reflection on inclusion.

Learn some effective ways to teach asynchronously online and how to move face to face tasks to a virtual environment. We will first look at the ways we use technology for teaching and then we will experience how to transform a few mathematical tasks into engaging online experiences.
In this session, we provide geometric definitions for all six trig functions and connect secants, tangents, and chords with the secant, tangent, and sine functions. From these definitions we use geometry (e.g., Pythagorean Theorem, similar triangles) to generate trigonometric identities.
More than just right triangles, this session will focus on many contributions from the Pythagoreans. This ancient group used visual representations to study and prove mathematics and many of their methods can be used in the classroom today to help students build understanding and connections.
Teachers try a high school geometry lesson designing mazes for elementary students. Teachers will use dilations and concentric polygons to sketch and construct a 3D model. We’ll conclude by reflecting on the experience, anticipating students' thinking and sharing experiences from real classrooms.
